Gem Spa was a longtime shop on the corner of St. Mark’s and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan. It was famous for its egg creams and newspapers. And Joyva jelly candies. After being immortalized in photos (NY Dolls) and in the daily lives of locals, it went out of business during the pandemic.
